Petition to Notre Dame U. against honoring Obama

PRESIDENT FATHER JENKINS: Dear Sirs: We the undersigned, respectfully request that you stop abusing the values of a Catholic Instutition like Notre Dame University by honoring the pro-abortion President Barack Obama, and stop arresting (and throwing in jail) pro-life leaders like Alan Keyes and Randall Terry for their peaceful pro-life demonstrations. We join the 71 American Catholic bishops who have already signed petitions against Notre Dame's hypocritical invitation to Obama, who instead support the Vatican's position that Catholic institutions "should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles" and that such persons "should not be given awards, honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions." We further oppose Obama's radical pro-abortion views which included infanticide, for example when he blocked the "Born Alive Infant Protection Act" while Illinois State Senator, withholding life-saving care from premature children, even after they had safely been born. We agree with former U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican Mary Ann Glendon, who rightly refused to appear on stage with Obama, and refused the Laetare award, because she believes so strongly in protecting the rights of the unborn. Jesus, I plead your blood over my sins and over my nation. God end abortion and send revival to America. We the undersigned pray in Jesus' name. Amen. We pray that Pres. Obama be prevented from dishonoring Notre Dame, the Church and the faitful Christian students, alumni, faculty and friends with his dasterdly abortion record, especially his Illinois Health Committee vote to deny medical attention for babies ACTUALLY BORN AND ALIVE
due to botched abortions. How can such a vote be sanctioned and honored by a "Catholic" University? This would be akin to the Jewish Congress honoring Hitler. Pray for the Notre Dame family. VGHASI

What has happened to this institution of higher education? You were founded on Christian principles which opposed abortion, yet you will honor a person that is so pro abortion that he will sign legislation that requires medical staff to kill babies born alive from botched abortions and will jail the ones that stand for pro-life? I know the Bible says to honor those that are put in authority over us, but it doesn't say to jail those that stand for truth and life, just because they don't agree with those in authority. The last I knew they still haven't made freedom of speech illegal, but you have violated their freedom of speech just because they dared to disagree with you. Please dismiss these charges against them.
