Victory!  7th Circuit Court Rules 3-0 that 1952 law for National Day of Prayer is Constitutional

------------------------------
A PRAYER TO ALMIGHTY GOD, and
A PETITION TO PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA:

Dear Sirs:

Whereas, in 1952, Congress officially designated a “National Day of Prayer”; and

Whereas, the “National Day of Prayer Task Force” estimates that last year two million Americans attended more than 40,000 events marking the “National Day of Prayer”; and

Whereas, in previous years, some of the aforementioned events featuring national leaders of various faiths were held at the White House and televised to a national audience; and

Whereas, it was reliably reported that in May 2009 and again in May 2010, President Obama's first and second “National Day of Prayer” in office, there were no public ceremonial events held at the White House to observe this day of great significance to millions of Americans; and

Whereas, less than two months later, the Washington Post reported that “hundreds of gay and lesbian leaders” were welcomed to the White House to observe the “40th Anniversary” of a 1969 homosexual-inspired riot in New York City; and

Whereas, in September 2009 and/or 2010 President Obama held banquets honoring the Muslim month of Ramadan, and distributed a YouTube video in many languages honoring the “great” teachings of Islam; and

Whereas, his celebration of homosexuality and Islam while neglecting the “National Day of Prayer” sends entirely the wrong message to Americans looking to their President for leadership.

Therefore, we, the undersigned Americans, petition you to reinstate public Presidential observance of the "National Day of Prayer" on 5 May 2011 with appropriate public ceremony and events to shine the light of God’s truth on a nation hungry for spiritual guidance.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

Please reinstate a public observance of the National Day of Prayer in the White House this year!

Kimbirly - Troy, MI

This is a travesty!! This country was founded on Judeo Christian values! Our constitution is based on Judeo Christian principles and the ten commandments. Ever wonder why certain holidays like Christmas are federal holidays? Hmmmm. Here is what one of our founders said: "Our constitution is meant for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for a nation of any other" ~John Adams All religions should be respected and honored by continuing the National day of prayer!

Christopher - Redondo Beach, CA

Its the right thing to do. And even if you don't reinstate it we'll pray anyway.

Arch - Parkton, North Carolina

The United States has always been a blessed nation, primarly because of prayer, observing and obeying God's ordianaces. Prayer is the most powerful tool in our arsenal, without it we will fall. We are radiply becoming a pagan nation through idolitary, moral decay and failure to observe and keep God's commandments. We call are calling evil good and good evil. Our leaders run amuck without accountability and without honor. We are forced to accept and tolerate any behavior contary to God, but forced through threat of lawsuits to remain silent about Jesus the Christ. We are told not to speak His name in public prayer so as not to offend. What will we say, in fact what will you say to God when we stand before Him the on day of judgement. If we are a free nation, with freedom of speech and freedom of religion then reinstate and observe the National Day of Prayer for our nation's sake.

Frank - Middlesex , NJ

Prayer is the first step in everything and a blood paid priviledge through the cross of our Great Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We have access to God's throne of grace and to honor that priviledge as a nation under God it is imperative to our leadership to carry on the traditions that bless our great land and acknowledge the blessings we have and the help we need corporately as a nation.

Jerry - Mt Pleasant, Texas

I am so opposed to Obama Canceling the Day of Prayer, we need to cancel his presidency in 2012. We need to elect a Christian Leader

Mary - Brookfield, WI

Even if you don't think you need it, please reinstall the National Day of Prayer for our country.

Betsy - Waynesburg, PA

How can you justify praying with Muslims and deny me the right of a national Day of Prayer? Ths IS a Christian nation..and I will fight for that right. I pray for you daily...

Paul - Bristol, CT

To claim to be a Christian when running for office, then to celebrate everything but Christianity once in office, is simply hypocrisy. Kindly please observe with us, the National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 6, 2010.

C J - Colorado Springs, CO

Do not stand in the way of God's people any longer! Do not be a "stumbling block" to my people - says the God of Heaven!

John - Atco, NJ

Our country was built on help from the mighty God of Heaven and we all need to seek His help for our country now. God help us replace this current leadership that is so lost!

Larry - Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Hello, The nation called the United States of America is a REPUBLIC that was founded on Judaeo-Christian values, and principles. I for one understand that you do not understand what this means, so let me tell you very simply so that even you will know, and understand. WE ARE A PRAYING PEOPLE. WE BELIEVE IN GOD ALMIGHTY, AND THE DEITY OF HIS SON JESUS CHRIST. WE ALLOW OTHERS TO PRACTICE THERE RELIGIOUS BELIEFS IN "OUR" NATION BECAUSE OF THE CONSTITUTION, BUT WE ARE A AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN A NATION THAT IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE "ONE NATION UNDER GOD", AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU OR YOUR CONGRESS, OR YOUR SO CALLED SENATE CAN DO TO CHANGE THAT. SO IF YOU CANNOT ACCEPT THAT. WE HAVE A EASY WAY OUT OF THIS, LEAVE OFFICE BEFORE 2012, AND WE WILL GIVE YOU HIGH MARKS FOR BEING SMART ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND THE WAY OF THE PEOPLE OF THIS GREAT NATION. WE ARE A PEACEFUL PEOPLE, AND A PEACEFUL NATION UNTIL WE ARE BROUGHT TO ANGER, AND WE HAVE BEEN BROUGHT THERE AS OF LATE. NO MORE LIES, AND DECEPTION--OKAY. YOUR PEOPLE HAVE DEFILED THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, AND "OUR" GOD LONG ENOUGH. PLEASE DO NOT LIE TO THIS NATION ANYMORE, COME CLEAN WITH US, AND TELL US THE TRUTH. 'WE THE PEOPLE" CAN TAKE THE TRUTH. ARE YOU REALLY AWARE THAT WE HAVE BEEN AROUND A WHOLE LOT LONGER AS A NATION WITHOUT YOU, THAN WE HAVE BEEN A NATION WITH YOU? COME ON GET IT TOGETHER, WE DO NOT NEED YOU, NOR DO WE NEED YOUR CRONIES, AND YOUR LOW CLASS WANNABES. LARRY D. CRUMBLEY

Rev. Jack - Hudson, Florida

Mr. President, our church prays for you and your family. We are not asking you to acknowledge that you are a Christian, only that Christianity is a key part of our nations history and should as such be acknowledged by recognizing the National Day of Prayer. Even if Muslims, and Jewish people and other faiths prayed to who they thought was God. Mr. President there is a large part of this nation that want this, and you were sworn to uphold the rights of all people of all faiths. Please sir, dont disregard the wishes of the very people who placed you in that position.

William - Chowchilla, CA

Prayer helps guide the nation.
